Ukraine resumes electricity supplies to Belarus

Ukraine today at midnight resumed the exports of electricity to Belarus. Under the deal, Ukraine will supply 100 million kWh monthly up to the end of 2009.

The Ukrainian exporter, Ukrinterenegro, said the sides had sorted out all the issues associated with the costs, reports Belapan.

The supplies of electrcity from Ukraine to Belarus were suspended in 2007 due to the limited possibilities in Ukraine. Later, the sides could not reach the deal because Belarus was not happy with the costs.
