Uladzimir Asipenka's term of imprisonment shortened by a year
The term of imprisonment of the entrepreneur from Vaukavysk Uladzimir Asipenka has been shortened by one year as a result of amnesty. The hopes of his family and human rights activists that he will be released were in vain. The reason for that is that he was sentenced upon the article which prescribes imprisonment up to 7 years, which means the degree of crime is high.
In accordance with the legislation, Uladzimir Asipenka now has a right to count on release on parole, informs BelaPAN.
Let us remind you that a 56-year-old entrepreneur from Vaukavysk Uladzimir Asipenka was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment with serving punishment in the colony of common regime, by the Supreme Court on May 6, 2010. He was considered guilty in storing and transporting of weapons and explosives. Human rights activists claim the sentenced entrepreneurs from Vaukavysk political prisoners. Asipenka is now serving sentence in the colony of Ivatsevichy.
