Us reminds Lukashenka about necessity to change Election Code in “SB”

The newspaper “SB – Belarus Today” has published the pre-election programme of a presidential candidate Dzmitry Us.
The programme begins with the statement that the Belarusian election system is based on the German system of the 1930s.

Us explains that the election is conducted with the help of regional executive authorities. Heads of state enterprises and organizations are obliged to head regional election committees. If they refuse, their contracts will not be prolonged. As a result, they are directly dependent on the local executive power dictating them how many votes candidates should have in the vote count protocol, claims Us.

The presidential candidate reminds that in order to avoid it he sent a suggestion to add an amendment to the Election Code to Lukashenka on November 4. According to it, every candidate should have the right to send representatives to district election committees and they should be empowered to count votes and sign the vote count protocol.

There will be no impartial election in the country without this amendment, claims Us.
