Vera Stramkouskaya: We will increase the sum of the suit against the organizers of “the live shield”
The hearing of a criminal case against driving inspectors who used “a live shield” to stop a drunken driver on “Minsk-Miklashevichy” highway in March has been appointed for June 19. The trial will take place in Minsk District Court and in Zaslauye. Let us remind you that the cases of two driving inspectors from Kastrychnitski District of Minsk have been sent to court. Criminal cases against two other inspectors were closed due to the absence of corpus delicti.
Six victims have declared civil suits against the driving inspectors – 50 million roubles each. The lawyer Vera Stramkouskaya says that none of her clients will withdraw their claims. Moreover, the sum of the suits will be increased during the hearing:
Stramkouskaya: We will add money to the civil suits because there were expenses for medicines and the evacuator needed to transport the damaged vehicles. And there are costs of lawyer… Everything will be levied from the accused.
