Vialejka.org - first victim of Internet law
The website vialejka.org has been blocked for a week already. A criminal case has been started against it in connection with “libel and insult” found in comments. The computer of a Vileika inhabitant Mikola Susla has been confiscated for an expertise. The local activist of democratic forces is suspected of administrating the regional website. Mikola said it in an interview with ERB.
Mikola Susla: “I registered the hosting for the website back then. They have no other pretexts so, in their opinion, the only possible administrator is me”.
Speaking about “the libel and insult”, Mikola Susla said that they meant the comments of some visitors of the website left under a picture published in May. They are the reason for the criminal case.
Mіkola Susla: “There was a cartoon of Karotki. There is such an official - he is the deputy head of the Executive Committee. People say he is the boss here in Vileika, everyone is afraid of him because he rules everything. They said the cartoon wounded him. At the same time, even officials were interested in it and everyone kept visiting the website to see “the cartoon of Karotki”. We received such information”.
