Victoria Azaranka makes it to 1/8 final in Miami

Two representatives of Belarus continue their participation in a tennis tournament in Miami, USA – Victoria Azaranka and Maxim Mirny. Azaranka made it to the 1/8 final of the singles tournament having defeated a Russian player Anna Chakvetadze yesterday — 6:1, 6:4.

BelaPAN informs that a Hungarian player Agnesh Savai will be the next rival of the Belarusian. She defeated the seventh racket of the world Anna Ivanovich from Serbia in the third round.

Unfortunately, the other Belarusian - Nastassya Yakimava – was defeated by Alisa Klebanova from Russia in the third round.

Maxim Mirny and Andy Ram (Israel) have managed to make it to the 1/8 of men’s doubles. They defeated Italians Simone Balelli and Andreas Sepi in the first match. Mirny and Ram’s next rivals will be South Africans Jeff Coetzee and Wesley Moodie (number seven).
