Vitsebsk activist interrogated by KGB

An activist of “Young Belarus” Ales Halavan has reported that he was summoned for a conversation with two KGB members yesterday, informs Radio Liberty. Halavan has told that the questions concerned his presence in Minsk on December 19. The KGB members were also interested in other Vitsebskers who went there or were going to do it. Halavan said that he could only provide information about himself – he was arrested and sentenced to 10 days of detention for participation in an unauthorized action. He served the sentence in Zhodzina prison.

The activist’s flat was searched while he was out. According to Ales Halavan’s mother, policemen tried to find his passport but did not manage to do it.
