White-red-white flag in Vitsebsk to honor BNR founders
A white-red-white flag appeared in Vitsebsk on Sunday evening. Opposition activist Brys Khamayda said the action was a part of the so called white-red-white marathon announced by legendary Miron on January 19.
Beginning from that day, about a dozen of white-red-white flags have been hung on the roofs of the buildings in honor of the politicians and culture figures that played an important role in the history of the Belarusian National Republic.
The notes left with the flags recalled the names of Anton Lutsevich, Yazep Varonka, Yazep Lyosik and other historical figures. According to Khamayda, on March 9 the flag was raised in the honor of Vasil Zakhraka. By-passers could see the flag on the building of a dormitory that belongs to the local medical school. The flag was removed 30 minutes after, using a crane.
