White-red-white flags hoisted near President’s Administration for two hours
White-red-white flags appeared opposite the President’s Administration on May 14. “Malady Front”, an organization registered in Czechia has started its campaign “Our City” this way. It is dated for the 15th anniversary of the referendum that changed Belarusian national symbols. According to the press secretary of “Malady Front” Stanislau Stesik, the flags spent more than two hours in Independence Square:
Stanislau Stesik: "Do you know how our special police troops do it? We can hoist a banner, guys near it will be detained and delivered somewhere. And the banner will remain! The same is done with flags. Special police troops probably did not understand what was going on or whatever but our activists who took pictures of the action report that flags spent more than two hours there”.
Special police troops were quick on the morning of May 14. Two members of “Malady Front” were detained while hoisting national flags – Uladzimir Yaromenka and Yullyan Misyukevich. The guys got detained as soon as they came down from the roof.
The guys managed to inform that they were being delivered to the Central District Department of the Interior. According to Stanislau Stesik, protocols were conducted against them there. The guys were accused of hooliganism.
Uladzimir Yaromenka and Yullyan Misyukevich’s cases will be considered in Minsk Central District Court today.
