Will Russia extradit a Candidate of Sciences in Philosophy to Belarus for criticizing Lukashenka?

A Candidate of Sciences in Philosophy Mikalaj Piatrouski is accused of taking bribe on the sum of 130 dollars from his students. Russia can extradit him to Belarus. Piatrouski's colleagues from Brest University claim that the reason for his arrest was criticizing Lukashenka. Piatrouski sharply critisized the Belarusian leader after the parade on May 9, where the latter appared with his little son, who wore the same Commander-in-Chief uniform as his father, informs "Moscow's Echo".

According to the information provided by "The New Times" magazine, Piatrouski has a Russian passport, however, Russian migration authorities are going to deprive him from citizenship. The scientist cannot be extradited until that.

Piatrouski was born in Rostov region, had a registration in Moscow and never refused from Russian citizenship. However, he lived in Belarus till 1993. In 1997 he changed the Soviet passport to Belarusian. In 2001 he received a new Russian passport, but there is no agreement on double citizenship between the two countries.

Mikalaj Piatrouski was supposed to teach in the Moscow Open Social Academy since the beginning of the academic year. Representatives of the educational establishment say he is ill and will be temporarily absent, but will start his work soon.
