Will Union State end after introduction of check-points near Russian border?
The introduction of customs check-points at the Belarusian-Russian border will be the end of the Union State. A Russian political scientist Pavel Danilin expressed this opinion on the website “Relevant comments”. According to him, the absence of customs offices and the freedom of travelling of citizens of the two states are the main achievements of the Union State.
Danilin considers the actions of the official Minsk to be blackmail aimed at getting credits for the Belarusian economy. He thinks that the credit promised to Belarus by the IMF is not going to be enough. That is why the Belarusian economy needs money from Russia.
