WWII veterans to get $3.5mn in state assistance package

The government in Belarus has begun issuing assistance payments to World War II veterans in connection with the celebrations to mark 65 years since Belarus was freed from the Nazi occupation. A total of Br10 billion or nearly $3.5 million has been allocated from the national budget. Each veteran will get from Br150,000 to Br300,000 as an one-off assistance package.
