Yarmoshyna: An unemployed candidate and a President cannot be in equal conditions
The Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission Vadzim Ipatau has given an expert evaluation to the appeals of Siarhej Kaliakin and Halina Samdzianava. He is convinced that Aliaksandr Lukashenka did not break the Electoral Code, as he did not involve his subordinates or persons who depend on him in any other official way into the activity aimed at nomination and (or) election of a candidate, in their working time. "Aliaksandr Lukashenka's representatives did not conduct any agitation activity during the event", — noted Vadzim Ipatau.
Tatsiana Protska, who represents Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu in the Central Election Commission, has turned the CEC's attention that Aliaksandr Lukashenka broke another claim of Article 73 of the Electoral Code. According to this claim, using of premises which are occupied by state authorities and organizations for activity aimed at nomination and (or) election of a candidate is forbidden if other candidates do not have an opportunity to use these premises on equal conditions.
"An unemployed candidate and a President cannot be in equal conditions!" — replied the CEC Chairperson Lidzia Yarmoshyna.
Discussion of Siarhej Kaliakin's and Halina Samdzianava's appeals continues.
