Klaipeda Port seeks upgraded representation in Belarus

The Klaipeda Port administration has suggested that its office in Minsk should be closed the position of transport attaché should be introduced in the Lithuanian embassy in Minsk instead, runet.lt reported.

The administration cited the need to upgrade the status of representation, noting the increasing role of railroads in delivering goods to the port. Belarus currently accounts for 22 percent of the port's operations.

 

The Klaipeda Port set up its office in Minsk in 2003.
